Covid - 19 and Kids-Impact & Role of Vaccine.

Final year B.Sc Nursing Students of Dr. D.Y Patil College of Nursing conducted Continued Nursing Education ( CNE) on Covid -19 and Kids-Impact and role of Vaccine, 21 April 2022 at 11 am in MPH & via Zoom Platform. The delegates of CNE were the Staff Nurses from Dr.D.Y Patil Hospital and research center, Pimpri-Pune-18. The CNE was planned under the guidance of. Dr.(Mrs.) Rupali Salvi, Principal of Dr.D.Y.Patil of College of Nursing and Organizing Co-Ordinator Dr. (Mrs.) Kavita Kelkar (Associate Professor) of Dr. D. Y Patil College of Nursing.

The Host of the CNE was Ms. Cynthia Phillips and Ms. Bhakti Parab. CNE was blessed with the prayer song by Ms. Dipti Pawar. The felicitation was carried out by final Year B.Sc Nursing Student Ms. Prajakta Deshmukh, Ms. Tejashree Bosle, Mr. Akash Patil, and Mr. Pranay Kale to Chief Guest Col. Trupta Suri (Nursing Director of Dr. D. Y. Patil. Hospital and research center) & Dr. ( Mrs.) Rupali Salvi Principal of Dr . D.Y Patil College of Nursing. The delegates were addressed by Dr.( Mrs.) Rupali Salvi Principal of Dr . D.Y Patil College of Nursing and declared the CNE is open.

It was followed by the CNE session I was started at 11.20 am by Ms. Anju Mathew on Overview about Covid-19. She started with an introduction, epidemiology, the incidence of Covid-19 cases from 2020 to 2021, Risk Factors and Symptoms of Covid-19 among children’s, Transmission, Diagnosis and she end up with Coronavirus prevention.

Session II was dealt with at 11.30 am by Ms. Meghana Thomas on the Social and Physical Impact of Covid-19 among Kids. She explained detailed about social impacts on Peer group, Social Development, Disruptive behaviour, Social Experience, Social Interaction and Parenting among Children’s. Then she moved towards Physical impacts it including Health, Developmental milestone, Sleep and Nutrition, and physical activity.

 Session III was dealt at 11.40 am by Ms. Achsa George on Educational and Emotional Impact of Covid-19 among kids, She begins with educational impact during the time of Covid-19 among kids. She added the points of Closure of School, Disruption of School Meal Scheme, Remote Learning, Online Learning Platforms, Benefits and Drawbacks, and Non-formal Educational Practitioners. And end up with Emotional Impacts.

Session IV dealt at 11.50 am by Ms. Rutuja Shinde on the Role of Covid-19 Vaccines in kids. She gave an introduction about vaccines among kids, Clinical Trials, National Covid-19 Vaccination Policy, Contraindication, Key Facts about Covid-19 Vaccination, Side effects, and she concluded with the Best way to protect your child from Covid-19.

The CNE Session was very informative and knowledgeable. In between in CNE Post link was sent by the registration and feedback committee The Delegates shared their ideas and views based on their personal experience regarding Covid -19 and Kids-Impact and the role of Vaccine. The E-certificate was provided after the Post Test.

Total 98 delegates attended the CNE.

The CNE was well organized and peaceful followed by the refreshments.
