Mandala Art Competition on National Youth Day

National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th January 2022to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The theme for the year 2022 was “It’s all in the mind” accordingly NSS unit of Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy organized a Mandala art competition for Third & final year BPT students between 12 -1 Pm in Final Year BPT Classroom.

The objective of this competition was to engage students in Mandala art which involves "circles" in Sanskrit, it represents sacred symbols that are used for meditation, prayer, healing, and art therapy for both adults and children. Mandalas have been shown in clinical studies to boost the immune system, reduce stress and pain, lower blood pressure, promote sleep, and ease depression. In the process of drawing mandala artwork, you feel much calmer and more peaceful and increases concentration power

17 students participated in the even tall the participant's performance was judged by senior faculty Dr. PreetiGazbareout of which 2 winners were awarded the certificate. The event was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. TusharPalekar sir and the competition was held by NSS coordinators & faculties Dr. Reema Joshi & Dr. ChaitanyaaWani.
