As a part of the initiative towards promoting a creative and innovative mindset among the students, Global Business School and Research Centre (GBSRC), in association with DPU's Institution’s Innovation Council, had organized a "Session on design thinking, critical thinking and innovation design workshop". This session was conducted on Saturday, 29th Jan 2022. The speaker for the event was Mr. Ketan Gandhi, having a diverse background working as the CEO of KgGuruji.com. This session was attended by more than 180 participants.
The objective for organizing this event was
a. To create awareness about critical thinking and its role in the new age of start-ups.
b. To create awareness about creative thinking and how it is important before getting into any start-up.
c. To create awareness about how design thinking can give birth to innovations.
The guest speaker was, Mr. Ketan Gandhi. Mr. Ketan has worked as the CEO, KgGuruji.com, He provides consulting, leadership & performance coaching, corporate training & advisory services to corporations in ten countries of the USA, Europe, Asia & Middle East regions. He consults & coach regularly with executives from a variety of industry sectors to help them create innovative solutions. He is an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad, participated in Harvard Business School's executive education program, Bachelors of Engineering in Instrumentation & Control Diploma in sustainable energy from Sweden. He wrote a book on "Business Plan Writing" for the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (Government of India). He conducts case study based sessions in MBA programs in leading B-schools in four countries.
The event started by welcoming the speaker for the event. Student volunteers compered the event successfully. They introduced the speaker, Mr. Ketan Gandhi, and handed over the session to the speaker. In his speech, Mr. Ketan Gandhi explained the meaning of design and critical thinking and the importance of thinking rationally in an orgationzation, told pre-requisites one should follow before getting into a start-up, and how critical thinking can help to evolve a startup.
Moreover, he started his speech with a fable having an important life lesson. He explained the demand for critical thinkers in the corporate world. He gave an example of the evolution of a cell phone from pager to smartphone through the help of design thinking. He gave light on how critical thinking helps as a problem solver by giving an example of red bus.com. Further, he discussed the scope of design thinking and the potential of design thinking and the approach of design thinking.
The webinar ended with a question-and-answer session followed by a vote of thanks.
