ORAL HYGIENE DAY 2019 CELEBRATION & INDIAN SOCIETY OF PERIODONTOLOGY LISTERINE LECTURE SERIES

Departmentof Periodontology, Dr. D Y Patil Dental College and Hospital, Pimpri, Pune inassociation with Indian Society of Periodontology successfully conducted OralHygiene Day Celebration and ISP Listerine lecture Series for UndergraduateStudents on 1st of August 2019.

Theprogram started with inauguration function which was graced by Dr. DGopalakrishnan Dean Dental College, Dr. Sanjivani Shelke Registrar DentalCollege, Student Council Head Dr. Pradeep Shetty, Alumni Committee Incharge forPeriodontology Dr. Santosh Mastud, Faculty from Department of Periodontologyand 15 Postgraduate and 75 undergraduate students.

Dr.Anuradha Bhosale welcomed the gathering and spoke about history of Oral HygieneDay celebration in the fond memory of Dr. G B Shankwalkar, Eminent Periodontistand Founder of Indian Society of Periodontology.

Dr.D Gopalakrishnan addressed the audience and told them about Importance of Oralhygiene at personal level and need for promotion of Oral hygiene in thesociety.

Dr.Sangamithra S enlightened the gathering regarding Correlation of Oral Healthand Systemic Health. She spoke about the growing effect of oral and periodontaldisease on Systemic and General health and the need for Oral hygiene to controlgrowing incidences of Diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Dr.Santosh Martande spoke on behalf of Indian Society of Periodontology ListerineLecture Series, Current Opinion in Biofilm Management. He spoke about theimportance of use of chemical plaque control agents like mouthwashes inaddition to regular tooth brushing for complete oral hygiene protocol.

Onbehalf of Indian Society of Periodontology Listerine Lecture Series ListerineMouthwash and ISP Listerine Dairy samples were given to Delegates attending theprogram. The Listerine mouthwash samples were also distributed among thepatients visiting the OPD of Periodontology department.
