“HEALTH TRAINING” for BNY Mellon Technology

Dr. D Y PatilCollege of physiotherapy, Pimpri, Pune had organized “Health Training” sessionon 26th March 2019 at BNY Mellon Technology, Tower 3, Magarpatta, Pune. BNYMellon established a wholly owned subsidiary in Pune in December 2004 toprovide world class support and services to the company’s global businesseswith 6000+ employees in their sector.

Ergonomics atworkplace has become very important as maximum part of the day is spent atworkplace. Posture while sitting, standing or working can make all thedifference to physical wellbeing giving rise to back pain, neck pain, andshoulder and finger issues. Injuries that result from poor ergonomics are someof the most common and frequent kinds of injuries. Considering these issueshealth training session was delivered by Dr. Seema Saini(PT), Professor, Dr.D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy. Main Content of the session was focussedon how simple physiotherapy exercises can help IT employees to improve theirquality of life.

Live streaming ofthe lecture was broadcasted to three other Towers of the company. Ergonomicsand exercise training that can be performed everyday for improving strength,flexibility and reducing stress and pain was explained in the form of 9 QuickChair Exercises which were demonstrated to the employees of all four towers.

Lecture was craftedin the form of Power Point presentation using Prezi Software for easyunderstanding and better visual feedback. Live demonstration of the exerciseswas given and all the employees took active participation in performing QuickChair Exercises.

 At the end, queries from all the participantswere well responded and satisfactory solutions were given to the problems likeknee pain, wrist pain, back pain and other musculoskeletal related problems.Positive feedback was given through email by Miss Sumona Ganguli who wascoordinating the Health Training Talk for BNY Melon.
