GBSRC has in its constant endeavor to upgrade students’ skills - critical thinking, collaboration, communication, problem solving and decision making.

Under the aegis of GBSRC IQAC cell student presentation activity titled 'Learning from failure of giant companies' was organized. It was a week-long activity from 26th to 30th April 2021. Dr. Leena Dam coordinated this activity.

Students were divided into groups of 3-4 members each. They were allocated companies which were giant once upon a time but failed miserably for being unable to innovate. Presentations were made on companies - Kodak, Hummer, Motorola, Concorde, Nokia, Yahoo, Blackberry, Enron, General Motors, Compaq and HMV. In this week-long event, 12 teams of 40 students enthusiastically participated. Each team made a presentation of 15 minutes followed by a question answer round from the jury. Students through their research shared several dimensions of how that company grew and what caused its failure. They brought to the table several insights which otherwise is overlooked. This event immensely helped students augment their learning.

Through this activity the participants enriched their presentation skills, critical thinking and demonstrated learning attitude.
