UNMESH- a 2-day science festival was organized by Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. It gives a unique opportunity for the UG, Interns, PG, PhD scholars and Young budding staff to significantly deepen their curiosity and explorations in the different fields of Science. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the event was conducted virtually on the Zoom platform. The theme of this event was Human Life before, during and post COVID-19. Unlocking the locked research at DPU.
This event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Trustee and Director Dr (Mrs) Smita Jadhav in the presence of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr N J Pawar, Registrar Dr A . N. Suryakar and Director IQAC, Dr P. Vatsalaswamy. Following the Inauguration, Dr Varsha Bhatt presented a lecture on the Latest treatment protocol of COVID-19 followed by Dr Pramila Menon who spoke about the challenges faced by children during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
A total of 391 participants registered for the event and around 210 participated in one or the other event. There were 9 events conducted in 2 days. At this platform the participants got a chance to showcase their scientific side by participating in the various event during the festival viz: E-poster, 1-minute video, Debate competition, Scientific photography, Puzzle, Catchy published title, Brainstorming funny research question, Utilizing Entertainment in Learning and teaching and PODCAST presentation.
The valedictory program was conducted on 18th March, 2021 at the Medical College auditorium. The first prize winners were felicitated by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr N J Pawar. The rolling trophy was bagged by Dr D Y Patil Dental College and Hospital for the second consecutive time. On this occasion, the Research Directorate booklet and the UNMESH momento were released. Dr Ramesh Bhonde, Organizing Chairman and Dr Pradnya Kakodkar, Organizing Secretary were felicitated for their excellent work to accomplish UNMESH successfully. The Principals/ Deans / Directors of the constituent colleges under DPU and the event coordinators were also felicitated. The program ended with a Vote of Thanks from Dr Parth Aphale.
