International Women's Day

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality. 

Marked annually on March 8th, International Women's Day (IWD) is one of the most important days of the year to:

Celebrate women's achievements.

Raise awareness about women's equality.

Lobby for accelerated gender parity.

In Order to celebrate Women’s day on 08/03/21 Monday we at DR.D.Y Patil Institute Of Optometry And Visual Sciences took initiative and conducted eye checkup camp for BVG women’s under NSS at 10-00am to 2.00pm in which nearly 16 students actively participated and checked around 90 patients and made it a success.

10 Students from our department also actively participated in “Self Defence Training” conducted by NSS cell in front of physiotherapy department at 12.30pm.

Several cultural events were also organised by the department from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in the department.  

Programmes conducted are as follows:

  • Speech and presentation on success womens till now by Jhansi 3rd
  • Poem by Harshit 3rd year on “NARI TO MAHAAN HAI”
  • Speech by Priyanka Gid of 2nd year in Hindi.
  • Skit by Janavi and group showing the life of women’s in past.
  • Poem written by Sunidhi Sharma 2nd year on women’s.
  • Speech by Namrata Ghode of 2nd year in Marathi on women’s day.
  • Dance from 2nd year student Komal Jangam and Godly Abraham.
  • Cake cutting by Women’s faculties and all the girls.
