A batchof  MBA II Year students (87) and Sixstaff coordinators visited the Coca-Cola India Ltd. at Hyderabad on 04.2.2019. This unit is mainly focusing on thepreparation of  Coca-cola & Fantasoft drinks.


Mr.Jadhav, Coca Cola Plant Head, addressed the students and introduced about theCoca Cola History and its operations in India. He explained about the productsproduced in this coca-cola Unit. Later he explained the different stepsemployed for the safety of the unit. The major raw material is carbonated waterwhich is processed in a chemical unit under strict safety procedure .thencarbonated water is used with the different combination as per productsspecific requirement. He also showed the students how to reach a safe assemblypoint if an accident happens in the unit during the visit.

Later Mr.Jadhav explained the agenda of the day. The agenda was :

1.    Basic preparation of Cylinders.

2.    A mixture of carbonated water without humanintervention

3.    Blowing of Plastic bottle and convertingthem  into 500ml, 1.5-liter bottle

4.    Filling up of bottles

5.    Automatic sealing of bottle and packaging

6.    Packing process with a  plant tour.


Duringthis session, students interacted with the Manager very effectively.Particularly about the safety process during filling of carbonated water incylinders. Then Mr. Jadhav explained the Different stages of blowing off anempty bottle. He mainly focused on the process of blowing up the bottles toFilling up bottles to sealing them and then he explained the quality controlparameter and how regular checking of the machine is done.


Thissession was concluded with the distribution of Coca Cola 300ml to everyone.

Afterthis session students were taken to industrial trip in two batches. Both thebatches were taken to the Quality control unit and production unit. During thetrip, students gained practical knowledge about the handling of the rawmaterials having different characteristics and properties. Many of the pointsexplained theoretically in the first session were explained again practically.In the Quality control unit, students were exposed to Filling of carbonatedwater in bottles without human intervention. They were Explained how to findthe Reference number of production unit produced in Hyderabad with lot size anddate of production, with Production Unit Number. There are seventeenmanufacturing units in India.

This tripwas highly useful for the students in terms of practical knowledge about theManufacturing process with different stages involved in making a final product.This trip will also be helpful for them to find placement opportunities in suchcompanies.
