Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

The Gandhi Jayanti Celebration of Dr. D.Y.Patil College of Nursing was conducted on 30th August to 5th of October 2019, at Multi-Purpose Hall of Dr. D.Y Patil College of Nursing, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Mrs. Rupali Salvi, SNA Advisor Mrs. Martha Raut and faculties of the college of nursing. On the 30th of August, we started with Essay Competition held on the topic “Truth and Non-violence are old as hills” in three languages i.e. English, Hindi, and Marathi. In all, there were 54 participates. In English-15, Hindi-4and Marathi-35. The judge for English Essay was Mrs. Martha Raut, for Hindi Mrs. Nidhi Rajput and for Marathi Mrs. Archana Pardeshi and Ms. Vaishali Jagtap. The winners were as follows: English: Ms. Roselin Chopade-I and Ms. Gitty Varughese -II
Hindi: Ms. Rajani Dey -I and Ms. Poojaka Harke -II
Marathi: Mr. Janmejay Kokate –I and Ms. Nikita Morde -II
The selected essay was sent to the National Level Essay competition at Mumbai.
On the 1st of October, Elocution Competition was conducted, in which in total there were participants. It was held in three languages i.e. English, Hindi, and Marathi. The topics were given 2 minutes before the competition for each participant. The judges for English Elocution were Mrs. D Priya, for Hindi Mrs. Gurpreet Bumrah and for Marathi Mrs. Pooja Nikam. The winners were as follows:
English: Ms. Rajani Rajan-I, Ms. Kavita Mukhiya –II and Ms. Sumayya Mulla- III
Hindi: Ms. Kajal Mishra-I and Ms. Kajal Dubey –II.
Marathi: Mr. Aditya S-I, Mr. Veer Haricharandas –II and Ms. Harshada – III.
On the 3rd of October, Bhajan Competition was conducted, in which in total there were 4 groups who participated. The judge for Bhajan Competition was Ms. Sucheta Yangad. The winners were as follows: 1) Ms. Kajal Dubey, Ms. Nisha Sharma andMs Sharon Alexander got first,
2) Ms. Simran Kaur, Ms. Poojaka Harke, and Ms. Laxmi Sinha got second and
3) Ms. Cynthia Phillps, Ms. Sonali Chouhan, Ms. Rituja Vanjare and Ms. Dipti Pawar got third prize.
On the 4th of October Poster Competition was conducted, in which in total there were 16 students who participated. The topic was Gandhiji and his teachings. The judge for Poster
Competition was Mrs. Ceena Bejoy. The winners were as follows:
1) Ms. Sonali Deshmukh –I.
2) Ms. Sujata Mane and Ms. Kavita Mukhiya-II. On the 5th of October, there was a PPT Presentation on Gandhi and his life by faculty. In this way, on account of Gandhi Jayanti, various competitions were held to improve and enhance the student’s talent. We were able to develop ourselves by improving our weaknesses and strengthening our qualities. We were also inspired by Gandhiji and his teachings. We were motivated by his simple life.
