Festival Fete 2023

The Student Council and Extracurricular, Sports and Extension Committee of Dr D.Y. Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute organized a cultural program on Friday 20th October 2023 to celebrate the season of festivities.

The theme of cultural event 2023 was “Festival Fête”. The atmosphere was brimming with joy, colors, and a sense of community. The event commenced on the auspicious note of lamp lighting and chanting of Durga Aarti by faculty members and students (Dr Jyoti Deshpande, Dr Manisha Junnarkar and Sanskar Marade, of BBT 3rd Year).  Prof. Neelu Nawani adorned the ceremony with her words of wisdom and enthusiasm. After this, the inauguration dance was performed through which the students portrayed the beauty and significance of different festivals celebrated in our country.

 The ‘CYPHER’ segment showcased the various talented powerhouses of our college which included poetry, solo and group dances, solo and duet singing and many more.  The cultural parade featured a vibrant cultural runway walk, where participants adorned themselves in attire reflecting their heritage or embraced favorite themes, such as Bengali traditions or the colorful spirit of Holi and ranging from Haryanvi, Punjabi cultures to Maharashtrian lavani and kathak.

Apart from cultural events several artwork competitions were also held which included Painting, Calligraphy and Art & Craft. Large number of students were actively participated in various competitions during entire event.  The first prize for painting was bagged by Ms. Shreya Sengupta (B. Tech. Biotechnology, 2nd year). The first prize for Calligraphy was won by Ms. Ishita Pandit (B. Tech. Medical Biotechnology, 1st year). The first prize for Art & Craft was won by Ms. Anushka Kalamkar (B. Tech..Medical Biotechnology, 3rd year). All the posters and artwork was showcased at the college entrance.

The grand finale of the event culminated in a spectacular ten-minute Garba performance, where students from all year levels united. Dressed in a riot of multi-coloured attire, the joyful atmosphere was accentuated as everyone swayed to the music. The night ended on a memorable note as all students and faculty members joined the dance floor, grooving together in harmony.

The Students council worked very hard to make the event grand success within a short period of time. The entire event was smoothly coordinated and executed by Student Council of DYPBBI under the able guidance of faculty members Dr. Jyoti Deshpande and Mr. Amol Salagare of Extracurricular, Sports and Extension committee.
