Dr D.Y. Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute organized Fresher’s 2023 program on 21st August 2023 to welcome newly admitted first year students of all Biotechnology programs
The theme of Fresher’s 2023 was Wild West x Boho.
The event commenced on the auspicious note of lamp lighting by the hands of Director Prof. Neelu Nawani, Dr Nilesh Kumar Sharma, Dr Jyoti Deshpande and Mr. Amol Salagare. After this the Saraswati Vandana was chanted by Akshata Kulkarni. Prof. Neelu Nawani adorned the ceremony with her words of wisdom and welcomed all first year students to DPU family.
After this performances were started which includes solo dance, group dance, skits, poetry recitations, games, and even singing.
Mr. and Ms. Fresher contest was also held for the new batch in 4 rounds. The first round was screening round where students filled out a form. The selected students went for the 2nd round which was personality test. The students were asked questions by the teachers. Selection was on the basis of the answer they gave to the jury. The third round was the IQ test round where there were some fun activities with rapid fire general knowledge questions. The 4th round held on the fresher’s day and winners were declared. Mr. Jayesh Khadke BBT First Year and Ms. Nisha Acharya MIT First Year were declared as Mr. and Ms. Fresher’s 2023-24 respectively.
Apart from cultural events a talent hunt show was also put up by the juniors with some outstanding performances. There were interactive sessions with seniors in the college that helped fresher’s feel comfortable and take advice as they venture out on their new journey.
The first-year students from all programs pro-actively participated in all activities with full enthusiasm to make the program grand success. The teachers along with the students' council successfully completed this year’s orientation program, ending with Freshers' 2023.
The entire event was coordinated by Student Council of DYPBBI under the able guidance of faculty members of Extracurricular, Sports and Extension committee.
