The Student Council of DYPBBI provides an opportunity for students to be involved in governance and decision-making. The Student Council is made through a process of democratically conducted elections and the main objective of this council is to enhance the communication between faculty, students, management, and family. The council also helps promote an environment conducive to educational as well as personal development. The start of the procedure for the Council elections was initiated by the circulation of google forms which included different positions. Students were supposed to fill the form with their previous achievements and their preference for any two posts which they found themselves to be eligible for.

On receiving the entries, the forms were scrutinized by the teachers followed by a screening process after which the students were called for an Interview round. The teachers allotted for the interview were Dr. Jyoti Deshpande, Dr. Viniti Vaidya, Dr. Soumya Basu, Dr. Arvind Goja, Mr. Sampatkumar Jadhav and Mr. Amol Salagare. The interview was conducted by the teachers based on the candidates’ preferences and questions were asked accordingly. After a lot of debate and deliberation, the teachers came to a consensus for the final candidate list which was announced on the 15th of November. The gap between 15th November to 24th November consisted of candidates actively campaigning with the help of attractive flyers, meaningful slogans as well as speeches regarding the individual candidate’s motive.

The Election for the DYPBBI Student Council (2022-2023) was held on the 24th of November 2022 in the presence of the honorable Director Prof. J. K. Pal and senior professors and all members of Extracurricular, Sports and Extension committee. The election was handled with diligence and integrity under the continuous surveillance of the former council as well as various teachers. Google forms had been distributed digitally to each and every class. Students were asked to log in through their official campus IDs to cast their votes. This measure had been taken to ensure the authenticity of each and every vote. The event had also been organized in a smooth manner by the former council and was being beautifully anchored by students Hazel and Omkar.

The candidates were supposed to present a two to three-minute-long speech to the audience while their manifestos and visions regarding the institute were getting displayed through a projector. This is usually done to give an equal and fair opportunity to all participants to interact with the audience and let everyone understand why exactly they find themselves deserving for the post.

Ms. Hazel and Mr. Omkar declared the results for various posts in the given order, Placement Cell coordinators, NSS Coordinators, Magazine Secretaries, Sports Secretaries, Academic secretaries, Cultural secretaries and Joint-General secretaries. Finally the most awaited result of General Secretaries were announced by the Director Prof. J. K. Pal.
