Students from Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune participated in Apla Pune Marathon Season 3 as health Partner along with the Medical Team from Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Center at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Balewadi stadium, Pune on 23/07/2023. A total of 11 Post Graduate students and 19 final year B.P.T students attended and managed the on field injuries during the event under supervision of Dr. Tushar Palekar, Principal and Dr. Om Wadhokar, Assistant Professor, Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy. A total of 3400 individuals from all over India participated in the Marathon which started at 4:00 am in the morning and continued till 11:00 am. Students were stationed at Medical Arena providing physiotherapy care for on field injuries at the venue. Physiotherapy care included therapeutic stretching and supervised cool down for the athletes, various injuries such as hamstring pull, muscle spasm, shin splints and quadriceps strain were managed.
