Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas

As per the directives of University Grant Commission, New Delhi and the letter received from DPU dated 05/12/2022, the NSS unit in association with IQAC of Dr.DYPHMCRC has organized series of activities under ‘Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas’ on the occasion of ‘Janma Jayanti of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati’ on 11/12/2022.

The following activities were conducted:

  1. Essay writing Competition was organized on 07/12/2022 on the topic ‘My Mother Tongue’. Total 50 Students (40 Female & 10 Male) participated in the competition. Essay writing competition showcased the importance of the different Indian language, Language as the mother of tradition and values, reflection of diversity of Indian Culture in its language.
  2. Elocution Competition was organized on 08/12/2022 on the topic ‘Language Harmony – As a Rich Cultural Oneness of our Nation’. Total 8 Students (5 Female & 3 Male) participated in the Competition. The content of speech given by students was mainly focused on National Integration by ignoring regional differences due to language and treat all as one i.e Indians.
  3. Guest Lecture was conducted on 09/12/2022 on the topic ‘My Language, My signature’ at 11 am in the seminar hall of Dr. DYPHMCRC. The speaker of the session was Derek D’Souza, Director (Students Training & Development) Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. The session started with a warm welcome speech given by Dr. Parth Aphale (IQAC I/C) which was followed by interactive session between Speaker and Students. The Speaker explained the reason behind celebrating ‘Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas’ and also enlightened students with the importance of Language Harmony among the students and the youth. The session concluded with vote of thanks. Total 84 Students (68 Female & 17 Male) attended the session.

The main objective to conduct all the above activities was to encourage an enthusiasm to learn different Indian languages among the students.

The whole activity was coordinated by Dr. Parth Aphale (IQAC I/C), Dr. P. M. Udmale (NSS Program officer) and Dr. A. R. Jaiswal (Assist.NSS Program officer). We thank our Principal Prof. Dr. D. B. Sharma for his permission to conduct all the above activity and for his support.
