Global Business School and Research Centre, Pune in association with Blue Jeans Go Green had initiated a Campaign PROJECT JEANS- BLUE TO GREEN. This Campaign basically was a collection drive of old denim from the students of Tathawade campus.
Each pair of jeans require 10,000 liters of water to produce, so by repurposing this material, rather than sending it to landfill, they help extents its life and reduce its environmental footprint. Blue to Green is a social initiative that simultaneously reduces material waste, while aiding the homeless in Delhi’s cold winter months. The team of Blue Jeans Go Green collects old denims from individuals and organizations through donation drives, and the repurpose this into sleeping bags. Denim sleeping bags can be used for longer duration, and people don’t require a bed or additional soft surface because of the material’s thickness & durability. These bags are distributed to the street dwellers which will be a help for their health and life.
The main aim of this Campaign was to spread awareness among student that their small contribution can create a huge difference in people’s life.
This social cause was initiated by BBA students under the guidance of Dr. Chetant Choudhari, Director – GBSRC and was supervised and coordinated by Head of Department, Dr. Prashant Kalshetti. Ms. Pratibha Choudhari and Ms. Abhilasha Kumari have taken special efforts to complete this drive successfully. This drive was conducted from 22nd Nov 2022 to 9th Dec 2022 and the collection was handed over to collection team of this project.
