Education 5.0 - Scaling up the value chain, Transforming from Education 4.0 to 5.0 on

ASSOCHAM India (National Council on Education) in collaboration with CMR University Bengaluru organized an interactive webinar on Education 5.0 - Scaling up the value chain, Transforming from Education 4.0 to 5.0. Global Business School and Research Centre, being a registered member of ASSCOAHM as an educational institute participated through the faculty members (9 nos.) and interested students (31) in this webinar. The webinar was attended by total 40 participants on behalf of GBSRC.

Dr. Vandana Bhalla welcomed all to the event with a brief on the purpose of the webinar and the itinerary. She mentioned the relevance of the topic. She gave the brief profiles of the distinguished speakers. This introduction was followed by Dr. Sanjay Jain, Pro-VC, CMR University. Mr. Sanjay mentioned about the importance of human touch in education and how it will be at the focal point for the transition from education 4.0 to 5.0. He said that the curriculum and learning processes will be centered on the learning needs and characteristics of the learners. Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Arora Sethi also extended to this point mooted by Dr. Sanjay Jain, connecting it to our good old education system of Gurukulam and cited examples of Guru Gobind Singhji and our culture incorporating education. Dr. Parul Nagi, Dean, Extra Curricular Activities, DAV Institute of Management explained how the education 5.0 would ensure the all-round development of the students. enriching them with different dimensions of skills required in the changing environment so that they are ready to face the new-day challenges and lead to new horizons.Shri Gopalkrisnha Joshi, representing the state member (Govt. of Karnataka and also that of NEP 2020 at the country), spoke on the role of Government to foster the smooth transition from 4.0 to 5.0 and facilitate all necessary support from the government. He said the change graduating from Education 4.0 to Education 5.0 is the order of the day. He also explained the core part of NEP 2020 and how the changes in the system would bring about the transformation of education to 5.0 to achieve it and what care needs to be taken during implementation by the stakeholders of the educational institutes also. He mentioned that the new system will foster open education system with vast choice to reach larger sections of the society including all sections. Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar concurred the human-centricity. He shared his experiences as a technology enabler and also stressed that the technology would be just an enabler while the major change is of human interaction. Dr. Prem Maheshwari, Business Director, South Asia, D2L Corporation apprised the audience about how the technology platforms which would add value to enhance the learning of the students at their pace and convenience. The webinar ended with a question-and-answer session followed by a vote of thanks given by Dr. Vandana Bhalla.
