As a part of the initiative towards promoting creative & innovative mindsets in the business among the
students, IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) Global Business School and Research Centre, Tathawade, Pune, had organized a session on “The overview of the Indian Capital Markets and Indian Economy. This session was conducted on Saturday, 26th March. The speaker for the event was Dr. V. Aditya Srinivas, COO and Chief Economist, Bombay Stock Exchange Brokers Forum. This session was attended 100 students and 7 faculty members. The objective for organizing this event was to understand how the Indian Capital Market works and understand the different types of terms related to stock market.
Dr. V. Aditya Srinivas after completing his MBA from Surat, Gujarat, he worked in the corporate world for almost 15 years in field of financial services with complete knowledge about all the segments of the capital markets and financial products. Dr. Aditya has been referred to be appointed as an Advisor by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Shri Hansraj Ahir to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and also to Shri P Chadambaram. He is currently working as Chief Operating Officer of BSE BROKERS FORUM from 31st August 2012. From 11th March 2013 given additional responsibility of Chief Economist of Bombay Stock Exchange Brokers Forum.
The event started with the welcome and introduction of the speaker for the session by student, Mr. Manthan Gala. Mr Srinivas started the session by giving an over view of the In Indian economy and meaning, scope, objective of the capital markets in India. Further the speaker talked about how the trading takes place, different types of trading and Dmat accounts and their working. Mr.Srinivas spoke on how the economy and the capital markets are interlinked. The speaker emphasizes on the benefits of starting investment at a very young age.A habitual saving could help in taking up an early and secured retirement. The speaker used several examples in the session, which were very useful in understanding the concept. Mr. Srinivas gave several tips on how a beginner should start investing. The speaker emphasized that
features like E-KYC has eased the whole process of opening an account. He concluded by saying that technology has completely changed trading and how, in today’s world one can easily trade and earn.
The webinar ended with a question- and-answer session followed by a vote of thanks given by Mr. Shreyas Eesh from BBA.
