Guest Session on Campus Placement and Corporate World by Divyendu Shangari

A corporate guest session on campus placement and corporate world was organized for MBA 2nd year students of GBSRC on Saturday, 09th October 2021. The session started with a welcome note, followed by an introduction given by Sukanya Waskar of MBA 1st year.

The session was addressed by Mr. Divyendu Shangari.

Sir has completed his PGDM with a specialization in Personnel Management from Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi. Sir holds post-graduation diploma in Travel and Tourism industry. Sir is a HR Professional with 8 years of experience in talent management, employee engagement, acquisitions, managing productivity, performance, orientation, and induction. He has expertise in managing productivity and performance. He has worked with Tata Motors Limited, Jamshedpur, HDFC Bank Limited. He is currently working with Poonawalla Fincorp as Business HR. He is even contributing as talent acquisition specialist for rest of Maharashtra and Goa. Sir explained the importance of campus placement and how one can understand a company's work culture prior to their job, he further explained a very important point where he quoted that “All of you have is a choice” The point made through this was while joining a company, we need to do a personal research and see whether the company fits us.

He illustrated about how to make an effective CV. He emphasized on understanding oneself and one's own capabilities before preparing a CV. You should also be specific about your inner interest. He explained how 'Attitude' plays an important role in interviews. Capabilities are alone not enough, one must have the ability to project oneself impressively in front of people, was one of the key learning of the session. He further talked about the right way to find out about an organization. LinkedIn plays a key role in this as it is a one-stop solution for everything from making connections with Ex-Alumni’s or Seniors or simply searching for a job. She also shared some points on various social platform accessibility like Glassdoor.

The Session ended with a question-and-answer session followed by a vote of thanks given by the Ms. Pallavi Manhar.
