A corporate guest lecture on "Desired skill sets & Essential supporting tools, techniques & Career opportunities "was organized for MBA students of GBSRC on Saturday, 8th May 2021. The session started with a welcome note given by Mrs.Vatsala Manjunathan followed by an introduction given by Ms.Asmita Turaskarr. 168 students were present for CGS.

The guest speaker was Mr. Sumedh Gupte. Mr. Gupte is the regional head of finance daily Business standard. He graduated from Pune University and did his diploma in Business administration from Mumbai University. Mr. Gupte is in print media for more than 2 decades. He had worked with renowned Newspapers and magazines like Indian Express, Dainik Bhaskar, and Shakal and received many awards.

Mr. Gupte explained the desired skill sets required which included precise communication, good understanding, and immediate grasping, Data Analytics, IT skills, etc. He particularly stressed more on precise communication and Data Analytics. He also discussed the sectors which will have more opportunities after the pandemic. The sectors like EHS, Agriculture and allied services, Finance, Logistics, etc and pointed out how these services are still working and proving them to be useful in this hard time.

He also shared inspiring stories of MS Dhoni and Indira Nooyi and pointed out their leadership style and certain characteristics which made them reach where they are today. He also shared an anecdote of Chanakya and Chandra Gupt Morya. He also told students to Design the plan and live the plan. He told students that they should be updated on what's happing in the business world by reading a proper newspaper and they should take out a minimum of 1 hour for this activity. In the end, he took a business trivia where students participated enthusiastically. The CGS ended with a question-and-answer session followed by a Vote of thanks given by Ms. Shraddha Talande.
