Alumni Lecture Series – Essentials of sales & Marketing in Telecommunication industry

As a part of Alumni Lecture Series , Mr. Ashish Singh - alumnus of batch 2013-15 was invited as a guest speaker to interact with the students of MBA semester-I. Ashish Singh is working as an Asst. Manager in Airtel, Mumbai. Prior he was working with Vodafone India. Total 72 participants attended the session. He, who is associated with the telecommunications sector for such a long period of time, having a rich experience, shared his knowledge & experience by delivering a session on "Essentials of sales & marketing in telecommunications sector”. He initiated the session by basics of marketing like what is marketing, why marketing is important. He then shared his experience working in the field of marketing from last 6 years. He emphasized that students need to be clear about their goals during the time they are pursuing MBA, they need to be abreast of the latest developments in various sector, if they are inclined towards a particular sector , as he was towards telecommunications, they ought to keep themselves updated on the happenings in that particular sector. He further said that students must do their SWOT analysis so as to identify some key areas where they are good at and areas where they lack. At the closure, students asked few questions which were addressed by him. The questions were on digital marketing, recent developments in marketing, developments in the telecommunications sector, and new entrants in the telecommunication sector like JIO. Lastly the session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Kavyayani Patil of MBA semester-I.
