Webinar on Anti-Corruption

Corruption can be defined as dishonest or unethical conduct by a person entrusted with a position of authority, either to obtain benefit to oneself or to some other person. It is a global phenomenon, affecting all strata of society in some way or the other. Corruption undermines political development, democracy, economic development, the environment, people’s health and much more. It is, therefore, imperative that the public be sensitized and motivated towards efforts for weeding out corruption.

E-governance, and systemic changes in procedures, minimal discretion, reduced public interface, technology based procurement and automation will go a long way in reducing corruption. The Commission has, therefore, been advising all organizations/ departments to identify and implement effective preventive measures to fight corruption and to enhance transparency and accountability in their functioning.

The purpose of Vigilance Awareness Week is to generate awareness in the public at large about the ill effects of corruption.

Global Business School and Research Centre was organized webinar on Anti-corruption for committed to uphold highest standards of honesty and integrity to follow probity and rule of law in all walks of life, on Saturday, 31st October 2020 from 10:45 am to 12:30 pm.

Total 92 participants attended the webinar through zoom platform. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Chetan Chaudhari, Director GBSRC. Guest Speaker of the webinar DYSP Seema Mehandale spoke at length on the Ethics, Value, and Anti-Corruption Laws & Tools of Good Governance”.

She started the session with very interesting and energetic mode. Ma’am also gave many real-life examples of how people will be part of corruption System. The session was interactive and encouraging for the students as they learn many aspects related to the anti-corruption activities.

 The session was followed by question and answers wherein the Mrs. Seema addressed the quires of students. The session was well taken by students and faculty members of GBSRC.

On the occasion of celebration of National Unity day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) 2020, Prof. Dhanashri Havale, faculty GBSRC invited all participates of webinar for online pledge on National Unity day.The session concluded with a thanking note by Dr. Priyanka Bobade.
