How to face the corporate world

Saturday, August 25, 2018

Global Business School & Research Centre (Seminar Hall)

  • Mr. Sandesh Banger Former AVP C&IB-RBL Bank, Pune was invited for a session on ‘How to face the corporate world’. Dr. Vidya Nakhate welcomed and felicitated the guest.

Mr. Sandesh Banger emphasized the importance of building the relationship in the corporate world. Long before when language was yet to be invented, people used hand gestures, body language etc to converse with one another. Good communication skills are a prerequisite for professionals, in all walks of life.

Effective communication is the key to connect with seniors, peers, juniors, and clients. Listening is a vital element of communication. A meaningful communication requires both a good listener and a speaker. The lack of effective communication skills has a negative impact on the personal as well as professional life of a person. Initiating the first steps and being the icebreaker and talk to a stranger is a good way to develop one's communication power.

Mastering the art of making powerpoint presentation is the sine qua non of a business professional. There should be the clear vision of what the presenter wants to communicate through the presentation. The slides must not be cramped with too much of information. An engaging slide has only pointers and apt images for the visual appeal.

Another mantra for success in the corporate world is working in a team. Teamwork enables to accomplish the task faster and more efficiently than tackling projects individually. Cooperating together on various tasks reduces workloads for all and helps share responsibilities and ideas. It has been observed that people of mastermind group are achievers like the sports team. The power of group synergy is infinite.

The session concluded with the following remarks by the speaker:

    ‘Beyond fears and rejections

    Fake motivations are no good

    Everybody falls

    Rejection leads to learning’
