  •  Dr. Nitin Pitty, Sales Director- KPIT Technologies Limited, Pune was invited for a guest session on the topic ‘Importance of technology in everyday lives’. Dr. L. K. Tripathy director, GBSRC welcomed and felicitated the guest.

Dr. Nitin Pitty initiated the discussion on how to build up own self in today's corporate world with right attitude and inclination towards learning. Now we are living in the digital era. All jobs are done by using the software. Gone are the days of standing in serpentine queues for booking travel tickets. Tickets whether for the bus, rail or train can be booked on the go using the application like Goibibo and MMT. Online shopping is fast catching up as an easy way of shopping from the comforts of home. The plethora of websites is available which enable a consumer to shop from a microscopic item like the pin to a high-end gadget online. Amazon and Flipkart dominate the online shopping platform.

Websites like PayPal, and Paytm enable payment transactions without the involvement of the physical exchange of cash.

Tesla electric cars which uphold that electric vehicles can be better, quicker and more fun to drive than gasoline cars shall very soon turnaround the entire gamut of the automobile industry. Tesla builds not only all-electric vehicles but also infinitely scalable clean energy generation and storage products. Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy with electric cars, solar panels and integrated renewable energy solutions for homes and offices.

Cab aggregators Ola and Uber are the companies which are run on software programming. Without holding fixed assets in their Balance Sheet these companies rule the chart in the road travel movement.

The session concluded with a strong remark that students need to constantly upgrade themselves and keep abreast with the changing environment. We are living not in an era of change but a change of era.
