Inauguration of Induction Programme at GBSRC for MBA First Year students (Batch of 2018-2020)

  • Global Business School and Research Centre, the constituent for Management Education of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune organized the inauguration of Induction programme at its Campus in Tathawade, for the MBA first year students on the occasion of commencement of batch 2018 -2020. The Programme was designed to welcome the students, making them familiar with the Institute and to provide the best possible foundation for their future career. The orientation programme helped students in getting introduced to their Management, members of faculty, fellow students and administrative teams.

    The Academic Year 2018 commenced with the grand inauguration of Induction Program held on 2nd August 2018. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Anant Sardeshmukh who is the Director General and Member of the Board of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), Pune. Eminent dignitaries from the Vidyapeeth Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr. P.N. Razdhan, Dr. N.J. Pawar, Director Academics, Dr. Anil Keskar, Advisor DPU graced the occasion with their magnanimous presence.

    Prof.(Dr.) L.K. Tripathy, Director GBSRC welcomed the dignitaries , parents and students of the MBA First year. He also highlighted the salient features of the MBA programme, value addition activities and courses being offered in the Institute; categorically assured the students and parents that the Institute will take all possible efforts to groom them as potential managers.

    Dr. N.J. Pawar, Director Academics, in his  Key Note address,spoke about the benefit of the diverse culture being present in a classroom. He asked the students to learn and respect each other’s culture and develop the personality of oneness. He also compared the demographic characteristic of Japan with India. The demographics of Japan during 1940s is similar to what India is experiencing now. He emphasized the importance of the development of the youth in the right direction for the nation to progress. He also stressed on the fact that India needs to harness the potential of the current generation.

    Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr. P.N. Razdan in his  address, congratulated the parents for their decision to enroll their wards at GBSRC. He emphasized on the need to keep a check on the spending habits of their wards. This would ensure students don’t fall trap to ostensible expenditure and mingle away in the crowd of unwanted company. He reiterated to students the need for keeping good company. ‘A man is known by the company he keeps’. The journey of life is long and to mature as a responsible individual, it is necessary to be surrounded by like minded positive people.

    The Chief Guest for the day, Dr. Anant Sardeshmukh in his inaugural address emphasized the importance of looking within. Self realization is the key to success. Comparing oneself with others will make one  reach to his accurate destination. He chronicled his own experience of student days recounting as the best period of life. He urged upon the students to gather knowledge from multiple sources. Life will throw upon multiple challenges and the building blocks of how to swim across smoothly will be laid down during this last two years of formal education at GBSRC.

    The Programme concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr.Vidya Nakhate. On behalf of the Institute, she thanked all the dignitaries, parents and students present in the function. She also expressed gratitude to Honorable Chancellor Dr.P.D.Patil, Honorable Vice chancellor Dr. P.N. Razdan and Honorable Secretary, Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Dr. Somnath Patil for their constant encouragement, guidance and support.
