Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth’s Global Business School and Research Centre hosted its first International Business Conference on Saturday, the 17th of November, 2018. It was a one day conference with eminent speakers and students participating from various colleges.

 

The Chief Guest for the session was Mr. Sudhanwa Kopardekar, Director of MCCIA, Pune.  In his inaugural speech Mr. Kopardekar explained the operations of MCCIA, Pune and how people can establish business relationship internationally.

 

This session was followed by the session of the guest speaker Mr. Ajay Shastry, Promoter and Director Southern Africa, Ferro Alloy Ltd. He stressed on the importance of reading habit in students to broaden their knowledge horizon. International Business demands precision and accurate judgment of a foreign land. Resources are limited and its optimum use ensures business sustenance. He urged upon the students to develop their analytical skills. This will greatly help in making available the appropriate product and services as needed in an unknown shore.

 

The final guest for the day was Mr. Amit Dubey, Business sector head, at Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, Pune. He explained the importance of Pune market in the international business map. Due to proliferation of technology students today have access to wide array of job/professional opportunities. International business consultants are in huge demand. To bridge this requirement student may enroll themselves under established consultants, acquire market knowledge and then start their own consultancy. A job should not be the only goal of a business graduate. The scope is enormous and innovation will lead students to success.

 

The students were highly inspired and motivated after listening to all the dignitaries. In the question answer session, students had the opportunity of getting their doubt scleared from the stalwarts. The day ended on a high and positive note with the assurance that students will exploit every possible opportunity and steer themselves ahead in the field of international business. The conference was successfully coordinated by Dr. Deepali Garge.
