The Director Prof.
J.K Pal conducted two days Laboratory sessions on Embryology and Developmental
Biology for second year B. Tech. Medical Biotechnology students as a part of
their practical course during 23 and 25th March 2017 at DYPBBI.
First day he
demonstrated the simple but innovative filter paper ring technique for study of
chick embryo (18 hours stage). This technique was originally developed by
Olszanska & Lassota (1980) and modified by Prof. J K Pal (Pal et al.,
1994). Second day he demonstrated apoptosis (programmed cell death) during limb
development in chick embryo.
The two days
sessions were very innovative and technical, and students received
comprehensive knowledge about Embryo development in chick (Developmental
Biology). The students got hands on training by studying different stages of
development of chick embryo. The practical sessions were co-ordinated by
faculty in charge Mr. Amol Salagare.
