A seminar on Ocular photography was organised by Dr D. Y. Patil Institute of Optometry and Visual Sciences in collaboration with Dr Chandrashekhar Chavan (PhD), Chandra lenses, Mumbai and H.V Desai College of Optometry, Pune, Maharashtra. The seminar saw around 100 students and faculties participating. It was open to students and faculties from all Optometry colleges in and around Pune.

A detailed photograph serves as a valuable record of a patient’s condition at a given point of time. It is a strong point of reference for the Optometrist to go back to. With the advance in technology, a lot of high definition record keeping can be done.

The seminar focused on the basics of photography. Presentations on the same were made and some basic concepts were discussed. The presenters discussed the application of the basic concepts in ocular photography. The students liked the presentations as they were informative and touched upon their inclination towards photography. Live demonstrations of using a mobile phone camera to perform ocular examinations were made. Dr Chandrashekhar Chavan shared his innovations in ocular photography and gave hands on experience to students.
