Dr. D.Y Patil Institute of Distance Learning had organized a special session on 22nd of October at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Auditorium to provide an overview of project management to the stakeholders. It was a student’s –faculty interaction platform to equip them with all the latest developments.
The programme witnessed talks by eminent Project specialists From IIM Bangalore who discussed and shared their insights with the young management minds.
Prof. Narendra Dharm started with fundamentals of project management. He articulated that project is a unique, transient endeavor, undertaken to achieve planned objectives, which could be defined in terms of outputs, outcomes or benefits. He also put light on various other topics like Project Management application, Need for project management, Introduction to Project finance and evaluation, Projects Finance, Estimation of time & costs in project, Project Evaluation using Cost benefit analysis, Feasibility Study, PESTEL analysis Project management objectives, The value of project management, Characteristics of project management, Phases in Project Management and Approaches to project management
Later session was taken over by Prof. Dhananjay Wagholikar who taught the significance of IT in project management and how it works. He said IT and project are synonyms in terms of discipline. He discussed project software which can be easily navigated and processed by any computer to make all project a huge success. In market many of them are easily available at competitive rates which help's project manager accomplish work effectively and on time.
At last, the session was concluded by Prof Sanjay Nishank, who took lead to clear concepts of Project Organizing,Creating Organization structures,Types of Organization Structures,Specialized organization structures,Projects organizing process and Project Management Office.
